Howdy,
Hope you are finding joy in this season. Wow camp in another country?!?! How honored am I to experience this? Camp is one of my favorite ways to serve the Lord. Back home I volunteer at an organization that helps people that go through difficult times. Since being in the world race, I missed the camp. Despite having been on the race, the Lord made an opportunity for me to go to camp. He is so good and orchestrates our lives how he designed us to be.
The organization that we got to partner with was called the Firm Foundation. Camp at Shalom Valley, which was where the camp took place. It’s their first camp in history. Long before the camp the leaders had been praying for God’s provision in fundraising and local volunteers who spoke khmer. They also prayed for extra hands to help with set up and tear down. Once again God did it. My team was sent to help them with set up and tear down. The exceptional funds that came in covered the majority of the camp. The funds that were raised were used to cover the cost of the campsite, campers fee, volunteers, camp supplies and etc. Through this camp we got to see God’s goodness through the entirety of the camp. Psalm 100:5 “For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations” We could feel God’s presence there because hearts were transformed, faith grew and just peace and excitement were filled at camp.
Stories from the camp:
A camper started crying when she encountered Jesus during a teaching.
Another camper got to share what she has been going through, feeling rejected by her parents. Despite feeling this way, she also knows that there are people that care and love her. Also staff members got to pray for her and speak life to her. Which I got to personally be a part of.
Volunteers experienced revelations and resistance against the devils lies.
Peace, love, joy
